Ech’s short answer

Porkbun manages more than four million domains

That is the latest total published by Porkbun. The company did not give an exact live total, so “more than four million” is the clearest answer rather than a fixed number.

  • Reported total: 4 million-plus
  • Active customers: around 750,000
  • Announcement date: 5 August 2026

Four million domains does not mean four million websites or four million customers. It is a snapshot of the domain names registered through Porkbun, or transferred there, that remained under its management when the company published the update.

The total is useful for understanding Porkbun’s scale and growth, but it does not tell us whether a registrar is the best choice for a particular domain owner. Price, support, security and account tools still need to be judged separately.

Part 01

Porkbun’s latest reported total

The company has confirmed that its portfolio is above four million, although it has not published a precise real-time count.

Porkbun published the update on 5 August 2026. Its statement described the registrar as having more than four million domains under management, rather than giving a number down to the last registration.

That distinction is worth keeping. Registrar totals move every day as customers register, renew, transfer and allow domains to expire. The published number is therefore a dated benchmark, not a live counter.

Part 02

Porkbun is reaching each new million faster

According to the company’s timeline, the latest million was added in less than a year.

  1. First million

Reached after about seven years in business.

  2. Second million

Added over the following two years.

  3. Third million

Added in roughly another 15 months.

  4. Fourth million

Added in less than one year.

The public milestones moved from two million domains in June 2024 to three million in October 2025, followed by the latest announcement in August 2026. Taken together, those dates show a clear acceleration in the size of Porkbun’s managed portfolio.

Part 03

Around 750,000 active customers hold those domains

The two headline figures work out to a little over five domains per customer on average.

Porkbun says its domain portfolio is spread across approximately 750,000 active customers. That suggests a broad retail customer base rather than a total driven only by a small number of very large portfolios.

The average should not be mistaken for a typical account size. Plenty of customers will own one or two domains, while businesses, developers and domain investors may hold many more.

An average is only a guide

Dividing the reported domain total by the customer count gives a useful sense of scale, but Porkbun has not published the median number of domains per account.

Part 04

What “domains under management” means

It measures the active domain registrations held at a registrar, not the number of people, companies or live websites using it.

  • It includes domains registered directly through Porkbun.
  • It includes domains transferred to Porkbun and kept there.
  • One customer can account for several domain names.
  • A managed domain does not need to host a public website.

A registrar’s total can rise through new registrations, incoming transfers and strong renewal rates. It can fall when domains expire or move elsewhere. Porkbun’s announcement does not break down how much each factor contributed to the latest increase.

Part 05

What the number tells us—and what it does not

The number is a strong sign of scale and momentum, but it is not a complete review of the registrar.

It shows scale

Managing millions of domains puts Porkbun well beyond the size of a small or newly established registrar.

It shows momentum

The shorter gaps between announcements point to faster portfolio growth in recent years.

It does not prove quality

Domain count alone cannot measure support, pricing, security, uptime or ease of use.

For someone choosing a registrar, the company’s size is useful context rather than a verdict. Compare renewal prices, transfer rules, security options, support and account controls before deciding where to keep a domain.

Treat the number as a snapshot

“More than four million” was Porkbun’s published position on 5 August 2026. The underlying total will continue to change.

Bottom line

Porkbun has passed four million managed domains

The announcement confirms rapid recent growth across a sizeable customer base. It is a useful measure of Porkbun’s reach, although the total should not be used as a substitute for comparing the registrar’s prices, features and support.
