Each ranked registrar is assessed using the same published categories. Pricing receives the greatest weight because registration, renewal, transfer and other ownership costs affect long-term value.
Pricing and long-term value
Registration, renewal and transfer value across the extension-comparison evidence available at the review date, including promotional restrictions and conditions that affect long-term ownership.
Ease of use and management
Everyday domain controls, DNS navigation, renewal settings, transfers and the clarity of the account interface.
Trust and security
Accreditation, privacy availability, account protection, transfer locks, authentication and important DNS safeguards.
Customer support
Published support availability, contact channels and how easily customers can obtain help with a domain.
Features and flexibility
DNSSEC, portfolio tools, bulk actions, APIs, forwarding, exports and other useful domain-management capabilities.

Open the relevant extension comparison and check how each registrar performs for registration, renewal and transfer cost.
Check the ownership tools
Confirm that privacy, DNS, DNSSEC, transfers and account security match the importance of the domain you will manage.
Read customer feedback
Where a full review is published, compare the editorial assessment with approved customer ratings and written experiences kept separately.
Editorial and customer ratings are deliberately separate. Find Cheap Domains controls the editorial methodology. Customer scores are calculated only from approved visitor submissions assigned to the relevant registrar review page.
Transparent registrar reviews
Clear about research, scoring and commission
Registrar scores use five weighted categories: pricing and long-term value 40%, ease of use and domain management 20%, trust and security 15%, customer support 15%, and features and flexibility 10%. The weighted category result is multiplied by two and rounded to one decimal place for the displayed score out of 10. Pricing is an editorial assessment informed by extension-comparison evidence and long-term ownership costs; publishing a new extension page does not automatically recalculate an existing registrar score. Customer ratings and affiliate relationships never affect editorial scores or tie-breaks.

Are customer ratings included in the editorial score?
No. Customer ratings and written reviews are displayed separately where a full registrar review page has been published. Visitor submissions never change the Find Cheap Domains editorial score.
Why is Spaceship ranked above Dynadot?
Spaceship has a raw weighted score of 8.87 versus Dynadot at 8.49. Dynadot scores higher for ease, trust and support, but pricing carries 40% of the overall weighting and Spaceship scores 4.9/5 for pricing versus Dynadot at 3.8/5. Both score 5.0/5 for features.
Should I choose a domain registrar only by price?
No. Renewal cost is important, but DNS controls, transfer access, account security, privacy availability and support can be just as important for a valuable domain.
Can registrar prices and features change?
Yes. Promotions, renewal prices, supported extensions and included tools may change. New extension comparisons add evidence but do not automatically alter an existing registrar score. We update a rating when a new editorial review finds that the wider evidence materially changes the assessment.
Do affiliate links affect the rankings?
No. Affiliate availability and commission do not affect editorial scores, recommendations or tie breaks. The scoring methodology is applied independently.
