Crazy Domains is a well-established registrar with a broad range of domain tools, 24/7 support and one feature I particularly like: Domain Backorder. It gives you a practical way to target a domain when it becomes available, while the wider account covers the everyday registration, DNS, renewal and transfer tools most domain owners need.

Review verdict
Crazy Domains is a capable registrar with solid support and account tools. I would consider it for someone who values accessible help, but not for someone primarily trying to minimise long-term domain costs.

I see Crazy Domains as a mainstream registrar with a few genuinely useful extras. Domain Backorder is the feature that stands out most to me because it gives the service more value than simple registration and renewal. The account tools are capable and support is easy to reach, but the standard domain prices still make it difficult for me to choose Crazy Domains purely on long-term value.
Someone who wants domain registration plus backorders, 24/7 support and related web services under one provider.
Price-sensitive domain owners or anyone who wants privacy and advanced DNS features included as standard.
Domain Backorder is my favourite feature because it gives me a way to target a domain as soon as it becomes available.
Its pricing is simply not competitive enough against the strongest registrars in our current comparisons.
Crazy Domains prices
Crazy Domains appears on the current .com, .org and .net comparison sheets used for this review. The current .co.uk and .ai sheets do not contain a Crazy Domains row, so I have not carried forward older prices for those extensions.
| Extension | Registration | Renewal | Transfer in | Pricing note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| .com comparison → | $15.39First year | $16.59Standard renewal | $15.39Transfer price | The renewal price is higher than both registration and transfer in the current dataset. |
| .org comparison → | $13.99First year | $13.99Standard renewal | $13.99Transfer price | Registration, renewal and transfer are the same in the current comparison dataset. |
| .net comparison → | $17.39First year | $17.39Standard renewal | $17.39Transfer price | Registration, renewal and transfer are the same in the current comparison dataset. |
The current .com, .org and .net prices are not strong enough to compete with the leading value-focused registrars.
The .org and .net rows are stable across registration, renewal and transfer, but the absolute prices remain relatively high.
Privacy and advanced DNS features can involve additional products, so compare the total setup you actually need rather than the domain price alone.

Registrar features
Crazy Domains has the normal registrar tools, but its backorder service is the feature that gives it more personality for me. It is designed to try to secure a domain when it becomes available, with first-year registration included after a successful backorder.
The Domain Manager covers renewal, auto-renew, domain locking, privacy, nameservers, DNS settings, contact details and authorisation codes.
This is my favourite Crazy Domains feature. It is designed to try to secure a domain as soon as it becomes available, and a successful backorder includes the first year of registration.
Basic DNS is included with registrations and supports core records such as A, AAAA, CNAME and MX.
Round-the-clock support is one of the stronger practical reasons to consider Crazy Domains if you value being able to get help outside normal working hours.
Security settings include password controls and 2-Step Verification, while domains can also be locked against unauthorised transfers.
Crazy Domains promotes a price-match guarantee. I see that as useful reassurance when comparing like-for-like domain products, but I would still check the eligibility rules and renewal pricing before relying on it.
Crazy Domains says 1.5 million customers trust it with their websites. I would treat that as a company marketing claim rather than part of the editorial score, but it does show the scale of the brand.
The account is built for more than domains, so hosting, email, DNS upgrades and security products all sit alongside the registrar tools.
The reason I would still consider Crazy Domains despite the weaker price score is support availability. Having help around the clock can matter more than saving a few dollars when a domain, transfer or DNS change is urgent.
For buyers who rarely need support, though, the higher ownership cost is harder to justify.
Compare before choosing
I would compare Crazy Domains with higher-ranked registrars if price, a cleaner domain-first experience or more included features matter more than round-the-clock support.

How this review was prepared
The score uses our five-category registrar methodology, current extension-level price research and official Crazy Domains and IANA documentation. Customer ratings remain separate from the editorial score.
The opinion that Domain Backorder is the standout feature is the reviewer’s own preference. Pricing and technical claims are checked separately against our comparison data and Crazy Domains documentation, while the 1.5 million customer and price-guarantee statements are Crazy Domains marketing claims.
Feature availability, backorder eligibility and guarantee terms can vary by product, extension and registry rules.
Customer ratings do not alter the editorial score.
Editorial independence: affiliate relationships, commission availability and customer ratings do not affect the score, ranking or tie-breaks. See How We Rank Domains and How We Make Money.
