Nameslink is an interesting newer registrar because it combines low domain pricing with an active auction and trading side. The current `.com` deal is especially aggressive, privacy is enabled automatically on eligible registrations, and standard domains get free DNS management. The part I would pay closest attention to is how auction domains are delivered, because that workflow is different from buying a normal new registration.

Review verdict
I think Nameslink is most interesting for someone who wants cheap registrations but also spends time looking at expired or auctioned domains. The registrar side is improving quickly, but the auction workflow is still the part that makes it stand out.

Nameslink has become more convincing as a registrar now that it is ICANN-accredited in its own right. Standard registrations can be managed with privacy, DNS, renewals and transfers from the platform, while the auction section adds bulk searching, bulk bidding and proxy bids. I like the pricing, but I would not treat a Nameslink auction win exactly like a normal registrar purchase: pre-release names can have a long delivery wait and may need to be moved to another registrar before normal use.
Price-conscious domain buyers and investors who want normal registrations and expired-domain auctions in the same platform.
Someone who wants the simplest possible mainstream registrar workflow with no distinction between standard and auction-delivered domains.
Competitive pricing combined with a proper auction system rather than a basic registration-only product.
The auction delivery process can be slower and more complicated than buying a normal available domain.
Nameslink domain prices
Nameslink appears on the current `.com`, `.org`, `.net` and `.ai` comparison sheets used for this review. It is not listed on the current `.co.uk` sheet, so I have not added an unverified `.co.uk` row. The `.ai` figures are two-year totals because `.ai` has a two-year minimum.
| Extension | Registration | Renewal | Transfer in | Pricing note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| .com comparison → | $5.49With NLCOM529 | $11.48Standard renewal | $11.48Transfer price | The current `.com` promotion cuts the first-year price sharply; renewal and transfer use the higher regular rate. |
| .org comparison → | $11.55First year | $11.91Standard renewal | $11.91Transfer price | Registration, renewal and transfer remain close together with only a small increase after year one. |
| .net comparison → | $12.50First year | $12.50Standard renewal | $12.50Transfer price | The current `.net` price is the same for registration, renewal and transfer. |
| .ai comparison → | $167.60Two-year minimum | $170.22Two-year renewal | $170.22Two-year transfer | `.ai` requires a two-year minimum, so these are two-year totals rather than annual prices. |
The current `NLCOM529` promotion puts the first-year `.com` price well below the standard renewal rate.
The current `.org` and `.net` rows stay close to their initial prices, which is better for judging long-term ownership cost.
The checked two-year `.ai` totals are materially lower than several mainstream registrars in the same dataset.

Domain features
Nameslink is trying to cover more of the domain lifecycle than a basic registrar. Standard domains have privacy, DNS, renewals and transfer controls, while the auction side adds a separate workflow for acquiring expiring and seller-listed names.
Domain Privacy Protection is enabled automatically on eligible registrations, hiding personal WHOIS details where the registry allows it.
Standard registrations get free DNS resolution with A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SRV and CAA records, plus support for third-party DNS providers.
Accounts can enable multi-factor authentication using a mobile number or an authenticator app.
Individual domains can be locked against outbound transfer and unlocked when you are ready to move them.
The auction system supports seller-listed and partner-sourced domains with bulk search, bulk bidding, filters and proxy bidding.
Nameslink says it supports hundreds of generic, country-code and newer top-level domains for standard registration.
Nameslink's auctions are useful, but they do not behave like buying an immediately available new registration. Pre-release domains can have a waiting period of about 27 days after the auction closes because the previous holder may still redeem the name.
For some auction-delivered domains, Nameslink's own documentation says the domain needs to be transferred to another registrar or platform before normal DNS use. I would factor that extra step into any auction purchase.
Nameslink is now listed by IANA as an ICANN-accredited registrar under ID 4587, and its standard registration documentation shows a much more conventional registrar experience with DNS, registrant profiles, privacy and renewal controls.
That makes the platform more useful than a marketplace alone, although I still think the distinction between standard registrations and auction-held domains needs to be clearer for new users.
Compare before choosing
Nameslink is interesting because it mixes low pricing with auctions. If you want a more mature aftermarket or a more established registrar workflow, I would compare it with the options below.

How this review was prepared
The score uses our five-category registrar methodology, current extension-level price research and current Nameslink, ICANN and IANA documentation. Customer ratings remain separate from the editorial score.
The opinions on value, usability, auction complexity and overall fit are editorial assessments. Pricing and technical claims are checked separately against our comparison data and Nameslink documentation.
Standard registrations and auction-delivered domains can follow different management and delivery workflows, so the relevant Nameslink instructions should be checked before purchase.
Customer ratings do not alter the editorial score.
Editorial independence: affiliate relationships, commission availability and customer ratings do not affect the score, ranking or tie-breaks. See How We Rank Domains and How We Make Money.
