Sav is one of the more interesting registrars if you do more than simply register a domain and leave it parked. Its mainstream pricing is competitive, while auctions, free backorders, marketplace selling and low commission give it a genuine domain-investor angle. Free privacy and a strong DNS package add value even if you never use the marketplace.

Review verdict
Sav combines competitive registrar pricing with tools that are normally more important to portfolio owners: auctions, backorders, for-sale landers and marketplace distribution. That makes it more distinctive than a basic low-cost registrar.

I think Sav makes the strongest case for itself when I look beyond registration price. The registrar includes privacy and a surprisingly generous DNS package, while the marketplace, auctions and backorders give domain owners practical ways to buy and sell names without moving to a completely separate platform. The main area I would improve is support responsiveness: Sav offers live chat and tickets, but its own contact page only targets a one-business-day response for tickets.
Domain investors, portfolio owners and buyers who want low prices plus auctions, backorders and selling tools in the same account.
Someone who puts premium round-the-clock direct support above marketplace and investor features.
The combination of low commission, free backorders, auctions and free for-sale landers is unusually strong for the price.
Support is less compelling than the pricing and feature set, particularly when an issue needs a rapid ticket response.
Sav domain prices
Sav appears on the current `.com`, `.org`, `.net` and `.co.uk` comparison sheets used for this review. It is not listed on the current `.ai` sheet, so I have not added an unverified `.ai` row.
| Extension | Registration | Renewal | Transfer in | Pricing note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| .com comparison → | $7.95First year | $10.15Standard renewal | $9.65Transfer price | The first-year price is the lowest of the three; renewal remains relatively competitive. |
| .org comparison → | $6.99First year | $10.15Standard renewal | $9.75Transfer price | The registration price is particularly strong; renewal and transfer stay close to $10. |
| .net comparison → | $12.12First year | $12.12Standard renewal | $12.12Transfer price | The current `.net` price is the same for registration, renewal and transfer. |
| .co.uk comparison → | $5.69First year | $5.69Standard renewal | $5.69Transfer price | The current dataset records the same `.co.uk` amount for registration, renewal and transfer. |
The `.com` and `.org` registration prices are among the more competitive rows in our current dataset.
Sav does not rely on a huge first-year discount followed by an extreme renewal jump on the mainstream extensions checked here.
The registrar price is only part of Sav's appeal; privacy, DNS, backorders and selling tools are also included or priced aggressively.

Domain features
The strongest part of Sav is how many investor-focused tools sit beside normal registration. Backorders, auctions, marketplace listings and free for-sale landers make the account useful throughout the domain lifecycle rather than only at registration.
Sav includes WHOIS privacy protection at no additional cost for eligible extensions.
Sav advertises free DNS, DNSSEC, SSL, CDN, DDoS prevention, email forwarding and domain forwarding.
Backorder requests do not carry a separate backorder fee. You pay when Sav captures the domain, with public auctions used when multiple users requested the same name.
Sav runs domain auctions with proxy bidding. Bids placed near the closing time extend the auction to reduce last-second sniping.
Sav advertises a 4% marketplace commission, free for-sale landers and support for Afternic and Sedo Fast Transfer.
Bulk management and listing tools are aimed at users managing multiple domains rather than only one website address.
Many registrars let me register and renew a domain but expect me to go elsewhere when I want to sell it. Sav is different because selling tools are built into the same ecosystem.
The 4% advertised marketplace commission is particularly attractive, and Fast Transfer integration can increase distribution without forcing every sale through Sav alone.
Sav now points customers towards Live Chat for the fastest help, which is useful. However, its ticket support page says it aims to respond within one business day.
That is acceptable for normal account questions, but I would prefer a stronger guaranteed response model for urgent transfer, auction or account-security issues.
Compare before choosing
Sav is strongest when price and selling tools both matter. Dynadot is the closest higher-ranked alternative for a strong aftermarket, while Spaceship and Porkbun offer stronger overall scores with different feature mixes.

How this review was prepared
The score uses our five-category registrar methodology, current extension-level price research and current Sav and IANA documentation. Customer ratings remain separate from the editorial score.
The opinions on value, investor features and overall fit are editorial assessments. Pricing and technical claims are checked separately against our comparison data and Sav documentation.
Marketplace commissions, auction rules, TLD support and backorder outcomes can change or vary by domain.
Customer ratings do not alter the editorial score.
